I get so excited this time of year, I get to change and add to our fall decor every few weeks for the coordinating holiday! In my last blog post, I talked about decorating for fall using non-traditional colors and unexpected textures. I wanted to achieve that same design aesthetic while adding in my fall foliage. Can you guess what 3 show-stopping pieces you must have this year to add to your fall decor?
1. Velvet Pumpkins
It is rare that we use our dining room table since we are a family of 3. We actually sit at our island for just about every meal. There is nothing more I love than a fully decked out table during the holidays. Creating a stand out tablescape with eye-popping and dramatic features are a must. I fell in love with these rich, navy velvet pumpkins. They are pure perfection and create a dramatic affect oozing opulence and sophistication. To let the velvet pumpkins shine, I decided to keep the other table décor modern yet understated. Layering the navy pumpkins on classic white patterned everyday plates adds excellent contrast. Adding a current block monogrammed napkin to each setting gave it the perfect polished look. Lastly, place cards are such a simple and inexpensive addition to make your guest feel special! If you are like me and your handwriting wasn’t meant for showcasing using a stencil is a great way to get perfect cursive letters. How’s that for non-traditional fall decor?

2. Glass Pumpkins
One area to highlight and add show-stopping pieces when decorating for fall is the kitchen! No matter how your home is designed (or laid out) when friends and family gather they always gravitate to the kitchen. These glass pumpkins are a must; they are so dynamic and add so much dimension to this space. I layered them on a natural tray and added in modern white vases for height. When adding décor in the kitchen, you want to keep it functional. A great way to do this is placing accessories on an oversized tray or platter so it can quickly be moved and creates the perfect blank canvas. Do not be afraid to mix and match finishes (gold, silver, brass, natural wood). This will give you the polished look you are wanting!

3. White Pumpkins
While I didn’t incorporate traditional fall colors this year, I did want to embrace at least one conventional element. Welcome, white pumpkins! These are chic and versatile and not to mention super easy to find. Looking around our living space, you will see pumpkins overflowing in every nook and cranny; this is such an easy look to achieve and super affordable. Take a look through your cabinets/closets to find bowls, platers, and baskets to fill with fresh or faux pumpkins. The mantel is one of my favorite places to decorate and an excellent canvas for a show-stopping piece. I got lucky and found this beauty at At Home! The white hydrangeas and pumpkins were the perfect tie-in making the entire space cohesive. Flanking on each side are these stunning glass (with gold chain detail) candle holders mixing in different textures and finishes.
