Welcome to the world of sun tanning, patio sitting, pool days, and SUN. Did I mention the sun??  It has been so gray and gloomy in Houston lately; I’m dying for some sunshine!  Spring weather in Houston last only a few days then we head straight into the hot, humid summer.   With that in mind, our springtime wardrobe is interchangeable with our summer one, minus the sweater and light jacket. Spring Break Essentials

We home school Maddox so technically he doesn’t get an official spring break (we school year-round), but that doesn’t mean we don’t take advantage of the new season. Pool time is just around the corner, and if you are like me, you need several options.  It gets unbelievably hot way before the official start of summer here.  So if we are outside in the afternoon, it means we are in the pool.  It also doesn’t help that we are planning a big vacation to the beach this year so my search for swimwear, sunnies, and the accessories might be on steroids.

A patio is an extension of your home, so why shouldn’t it be styled to feel as welcoming and comfortable as the inside of your home.  We spend a crazy amount of time on our patio during the springtime so having it look and feel great encourages us to get out. We put the technology away and enjoy lots of family time out back.

Well, there you have it, my simple little birthday list!  Haha, I kid I kid.  But seriously Nick, if you are reading this…get busy shopping!  On a serious note, I know shopping for spring outfits can be tricky for us ladies.  I mean is there anything else more torturous than bathing suit shopping?  At the beginning of this week, something told me to reread my 2019 goals, and it reminded me to refocus to meet my end goals.  I want to be healthy and happy in this body, and I hope you can do the same.  Instead of us focusing so much energy on what we look like or don’t look like in that bikini or shorts, try to focus on your inner self. Soak up the sun and fun with your family and friends!
