Nothing gets your gears in high speed like planning a party at your home when the patio has zero furniture for guests to sit. This is the exact scenario I found myself in; I had a party planned for Nick’s birthday (you’re welcome Nick for not sharing your age).
The date had been set and yet I had zero furniture for our newly remodeled patio and swimming area. I got busy shopping, and although it was a quick turnaround, I found exactly what I was looking for. Striking the perfect balance between hard edges, soft textiles, and comfort, I found the unbeatable prices on all our modern outdoor furniture.
What a journey we have been on for this modern outdoor oasis transformation from conception, to construction, and completion! Oh, we can’t forget the DYI limewash project! WOW!!! Today’s blog is breaking down everything you see the furniture, textiles, and all the fun pool pieces and accessories.
Modern Outdoor Furniture
When I was sourcing furniture for this space, the pool water feature was my main inspiration, pairing hard edges with soft curves — keeping with an overall theme of white and black with a ton of natural elements throughout. I decided on white cushions atop the sofa and chair bases for cohesion throughout.
We needed a place to house extra towels, and all the other odd and end things a storage piece was a necessity. I found this beautiful wood sideboard with a Live Edge top; the detail is just gorgeous. This piece is typically inside, but since it is going under our covered patio, it should be A-OK. The piece actually came in with doors that were damaged (wouldnt close properly) so I ordered a second one. The second one had the same issue so now I have an empty space. It makes for a great photo opp but I def need to find something to fill the void.
The entire reason we even started this patio remodel was that we wanted a place that could fit our family and friends outdoors. So naturally I wanted the dining space to be the showstopper, I think we accomplished that. The grand chandelier provides the best ambient lighting at night. We dine outside several times a week now!

Black & White Elements
When selecting accessories & textiles for the patio and the pool area, I wanted to continue the modern vibe using a black and white color palette with organic pops of green. I fell madly in love with the geometric rug, sold here & here! When designing this modern outdoor pool and patio, my motto was “GO BIG or go home!” While selecting the furnishing pieces, I wanted them to reflect that same attitude. This may be the softest outdoor rug I have ever seen!

Ask anyone with a pool and they will tell you, there are always towels and more towels laying around everywhere. Have you ever seen such a sleek minimalist towel rack? I, of course, had to get the softest most beautiful Turkish beach towels. The stand will double as a blanket holder once the cooler temps of the Fall set in, Fall are you ever coming??
There are some AMAZING unique indoor/outdoor planters on the market…and I think I bought most of them. I think a pop of green in the form of plants (real or faux) is a must for every room. My goal was to create vignettes around the pool; I added a unique planter(s) to each space to cozy it up.

Fun Pool & Patio Accessories
Ever go to a resort and find yourself relaxing in the pool in the shade? It is so relaxing and inviting. I wanted to recreate that feeling here at Casa Roberts. Nick enjoys being in the shade while in the pool, so this gave him the perfect scenario. These three umbrellas offer UV protection, and the scalloped edges are reminiscent of Greece. The price is pretty unbeatable.
The boys love all the over-sized floats! I knew we would enjoy the giant outdoor games, but I don’t think I realized how much. We play Connect 4 every night, Maddox is now a connect 4 shark, you have been warned.

Getting the patio ready was a bit rushed, not going to lie. I love every item that I selected for this space. There are still a few pieces I am trying to source such as a coffee table for the lounge area and the perfect chairs to accent the dining table. But I just haven’t found the right ones, and I am not willing to sacrifice the overall vibe. That’s my final message for you, don’t get in too big of a rush when designing your space that you end up with items you aren’t pleased. What a journey we have been on these last four months, to have modern outdoor furniture…FINALLY. Thank you for taking the ride with me, now on to the next project.
