When I started to plan my Christmas décor for this season, I knew I wanted to take a different approach to my Christmas decorating this year. By utilizing the same décor, I have had for years, but presenting it in fresh and unique ways. It wasn’t until I took my Christmas Style Quiz, that made it obvious the direction I should go! I still have plenty of sparkles, but this year I displayed my home décor using modern concepts and in some aspects, minimalist styling. Welcome to our Christmas Home Tour for 2019!
Before I started this blog, naturally, I had to take a stroll down memory lane to our 2018 Christmas Home Tour, and I was blown away with how much our house has changed over one year!!! Yes, I was here and did all of it, but seeing the difference in pictures just WOWED me, and I am LOVING it! I have said it in almost every holiday blog this season; my motto for the entire holiday season was “make it easy.” I am keeping with that same motto in our home design by simplifying the overall design making every piece seem bold and stand out in its beauty. Let’s start with the living room!

The Mantel
Pro Tip: Never underestimate the power of Christmas picks/stems and ribbon! I started the mantel with a standard 9′ pine garland, intertwined a thinner decorative garland (to see how to mix garlands click here), integrated picks and ribbon until I achieved this lush look!

The Dining Area
Sometimes I have a design plan, stick to it, and execute to a T. Then, there are the outright design conundrums like this area has been. While shopping, I found a unique piece that I planned to use on the table, and I was enamored. It didn’t work, I tried, and I tried again. Trust me, when I say I tried and tried, with no avail of it working, I opted to switch directions. While there are a lot of layers added in, there is still a feeling of light and airiness in this nook. I used the same garland I added to my mantle and layered in brass candlesticks I found on FB Marketplace, ornament place holders, and a couple of cheese boards. To balance the table centrally, I used an old champagne bucket and stuffed it full of un-used ornaments.
Pro Tip: When you are thrown a design curveball, you just have to keep going! Take a step back and reassess and make it work! In most cases, you will find you like the final design more than your original concept.

I might have downsized from three Christmas trees in the living room, but I couldn’t resist completing this space by adding a Christmas tree in our dining/kitchen area.
Pro Tip: Never stick to just lights and ornaments when decorating a Christmas tree. Adding in assorted objects of all shapes in sizes will add depth and uniqueness to your tree. I recently shared my tips and tricks to perfecting your Christmas tree decor, to read more click here.

The Foyer & Office
First impressions, that doesn’t only happen while on a hot date. The entry is the first place a guest will see when they enter your home, so I always want it to make an impact. I must admit the foyer table is my favorite; it is timeless beauty and makes a striking statement as soon as you enter. I gave you a sneak peek of my Christmas decor a couple of weeks ago. Pro Tip: Many can struggle with how to get decor items to stay in place when decorating for the holidays. Command Hooks and UHU Tac are great adhesives that leave you with zero mess with no nail holes to fix after the holidays. They are also super easy to hide.
Vignettes Throughout
Pro Tip: Creating small vignettes throughout your home will leave your home magazine-worthy. Vignettes create cohesion across your house and give an overall feeling of coziness. Every vignette does not have to be elaborate. I often opt for a grouping of 3-5 items. Odd numbers work best when grouping, read all about that here!
