Pillows covers are so versatile. I find nothing more satisfying than landing on the perfect pillow combo mixing and matching solids, patterns, and textures. I love fusing old patterns with more contemporary designs making bold statements. Here are a few of my favorite mix and match pillow covers. Another plus of using pillow covers, they store super easy! Very rarely do I find the need to purchase new inserts. I simply buy new covers and reuse the inserts.
Don’t be afraid to mix patterns on patterns when styling. If you’re worried, it will be too busy; the key is to keep the patterns all in the same color family. Attempt to mix prints that have one unifying color, keeping your look polished and clean. I love mixing large prints with small prints. A few classic combos you can easily mix would be floral prints with geometric, animal prints with stripes, and abstract with a small scale pattern. If you want to mix in three patterns, start by trying these three patterns together: large scale (bigger prints), floral, and geometric.
