We have officially been in our home longer than any other home, four years! I love change, I love organizing, and I love new… I love moving. We have made a conscious effort to stay put and enjoy our home. With that said, I have a running list of areas to revamp, a little character never hurt anyone! It was finally time to focus on our master bathroom remodel!
The first place I ran to when it was time to pick out plumbing fixtures and lighting was Ferguson Showrooms. They offer an extensive showroom that encompasses just about everything you could need to build or remodel your home.

Design Plans
My goal with this remodel project was to encompass changes that would make a huge impact but were also practical with resale in mind. Not that we are selling our home, but we won’t be here forever. The first thing I did was create a list by priority of things I wanted to change. Doing so allowed me to consider budget, timeline, and design plans.
- Plumbing Fixtures
- Bath Tub
- Lighting
- Accent Wall
- Mirror Frame
Plumbing
Nick’s shower is perfect, he truly loves it and everything within it. That being said, I need to choose new plumbing fixtures that would coordinate with his existing shower head and sprays. Originally I planned to use a freestanding tub filler but after being at the showroom I fell in love with this deck mount Edenton faucet.
The brushed nickel finish is warm and the design is beautiful! A high-quality collection that doesn’t break the bank, winning! I loved the entire Signature Hardware collection so I used it for both vanities, the bathtub, towel rings, and the robe hooks.
Bath Tub
A deep soaker tub, that is all I had on my mind. I wanted to maximize the space using every square inch possible. I chose the Kohler Sunstruck tub in white, 65.5″ X 35.5″. I am currently soaking in the tub just taking in the view!
Lighting
New lighting was a must. If you have been following me you know how important lighting is when it comes to design. This can truly make or break a good design. I typically sway on the “go big or go home” side when it comes to light fixtures. I was able to go a little bigger than the builder had installed in our house.
We now have a brightly lit bathroom, finally!! If you have questions on how to choose lighting for your home you can refer back to this lighting blog post. I instantly fell in love with Ferguson’s Millennium Lighting heirloom bronze finish. The light and finish are both just as stunning in person!
Accent Wall
This room lacked character. When I walked into the room I was underwhelmed and there was only one way to fix that, stone! Glen-Gery offers some of the most beautiful stones and bricks. I was able to incorporate their Cashmere stacked stone into the design, oh how it paid off! Welcome to my spa retreat!
Mirror Frame
The framed mirror was chosen and installed by our builder, Ashton Woods. I appreciated the fact that the mirror was framed but I didn’t love the style or color. I was able to paint the frame Rock Bottom by Sherwin Williams and suddenly everything works together! The mirror now makes a bold statement without me having to purchase new ones.
As I was writing this blog post and thinking about how much I love our new bathroom I instantly remembered this modern farmhouse bathroom I designed a couple of years ago. It is still one of my favorites to date! The wet space is dreamy!

Finally, I have a place to soak and relax that inspires me, that relaxes my mind, and that brings me peace. It feels like a luxury hotel spa and I am loving it!
