Initially, we walked into this home and met the loveliest couple in a home that was dated, had odd angles, and was a bit dark. From the entry to the living room, we updated the paint, cabinetry, lighting… the works. The kitchen was a complete remodel. We were able to square things off, layer in timeless elements, and brighten things up. We also took advantage of their existing ceiling in the living room. We elevated this by adding molding (in the entire room), fresh paint, and a new ceiling fan.
Can we have a moment for the entertainment center? The original design presented an arch over the square cabinetry, which left the cabinets feeling like an afterthought. We created a fur down and added molding to complete the wall. Paint and cabinet hardware took the unit to a whole new level!
In the entry, we painted and remodeled the stairs. We now have a staircase made of oak treads with a natural stain, highlighting the natural beauty of the wood.
Throughout the whole home we updated the flooring, which brightens up the space and gives it a cozy feel. In person, there’s a slight silver tone in the grain of the wood, which is magnificent.
After the remodel, we furnished the living room to provide a cozy living area that left room for the client to do yoga in the mornings. She can now look out her new windows and enjoy the natural light while meditating.
